Stormdrain Inlets serve specific watershed areas called Inlet Boundaries. Within each Inlet boundary, there is one Inlet. These Inlets serve to remove (or drain) the storm and nuisance water from the land that lies within it’s inlet boundary, and direct that water into the adjacent stormdrain network, where it is eventually deposited into a ponding basin or waterway.

This Feature Class participates in the “Facilities” Topology, where it shares common coordinates with Existing Pipe and Time of Concentration lines. A Topology is a collection of rules that, when coupled with a set of editing tools, enables GIS to more accurately represent geometric relationships.

This Feature Class is stored within a Geodatabase (stores a collection of geographic datasets) which is housed on the Districts GIS server.

In addition to storing the coordinates of Existing Inlets, this Feature Class also stores “Attribute” information related to the Master Planning and maintenance of the Design Inlet Feature Class.
