Manholes are used by personnel to gain access to Storm Drain Pipelines for maintenance and inspection purposes.Junction Boxes or Vaults serve the same purpose as Manholes, but are much larger and rectangular in shape. Canal Interties connect the Stormdrain Network to the Canal Network. They are used to discharge storm water into the Canal Network during peak runoff periods. They are also used during off-peak periods to direct Canal water into the Ponding Basins via the stormdrain network, for Ground Water Recharging.Standpipes are above ground structures which usually contain valves.
