Manholes are used by personnel to gain access to Storm Drain Pipelines for maintenance and inspection purposes.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="text-align:Justify;margin:0 48 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Junction Boxes or Vaults serve the same purpose as Manholes, but are much larger and rectangular in shape. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="text-align:Justify;margin:0 48 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Canal Interties connect the Stormdrain Network to the Canal Network. They are used to discharge storm water into the Canal Network during peak runoff periods. They are also used during off-peak periods to direct Canal water into the Ponding Basins via the stormdrain network, for Ground Water Recharging.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="text-align:Justify;margin:0 48 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Standpipes are above ground structures which usually contain valves. They allow staff to direct water within the Stormdrain Network.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="text-align:Justify;margin:0 48 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>This Feature Class participates in the “Facilities” Topology, where it shares common coordinates with Existing Pipe. A Topology is a collection of rules that, when coupled with a set of editing tools, enables GIS to more accurately represent geometric relationships.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="text-align:Justify;margin:0 48 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>This Feature Class is stored within a Geodatabase (stores a collection of geographic datasets) which is housed on the Districts GIS server.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="text-align:Justify;margin:0 48 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>In addition to storing the coordinates of Existing </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>Structures</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>, this Feature Class also stores “Attribute” information related to the Master Planning and Maintenance of the </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>Design </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>Structures </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>Feature Class.</SPAN></SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
